Plus, if you need something to nibble while you put your feet up for ten minutes, grab a brew and one of the Halos Triple Chocolate Flavour Cloud Cakes we’ve found. Unbelievably, they’re just 66 calories per cake…

Oakhurst King Kebab Butter Chicken – 342 calories per 1/4 pack
Two of our favourite takeaway orders in one, these Oakhurst King Kebab Butter Chicken skewers are perfect for summer. The juicy bites of chicken drum and thigh meat are marinated with mild spices, and threaded onto wooden skewers.
They cook straight from frozen, so they’re great to keep in a freezer drawer for those days when you’re not sure what you fancy for dinner. A simple side salad or a scoop of our Indian-Style Fried Rice on the side would go down a treat!
It’s loaded up with colourful veggies and a handful of store-cupboard spices to give it that irresistible fakeaway flavour. Don’t skip a sprinkle of coriander and a squeeze of lime right before serving – it adds a lovely pop of freshness!
Oakhurst King Kebab Butter Chicken is available from Aldi, priced at £5.79.
Iceland Mediterranean Vegetable Quiches – 288 calories per quiche
These handy little Mediterranean Vegetable Quiches from Iceland are just 288 calories each! Delicious hot or cold, the crispy shortcrust pastry cases are filled with mixed peppers, spinach, tomato and courgette, with plenty of mature Cheddar cheese in the mix too.
If you like your quiche warm, the good news is that they heat up in just 12 minutes in the oven (or 10 minutes in an air fryer!). Plate them up with salad, chips or some Rustic Potato Wedges if you fancy turning them into a heartier meal.
Have you ever tried one of our crustless quiches? A clever way to cut down on calories without compromising on flavour, saying goodbye to buttery pastry is easier than you might think! This Caramelised Onion Quiche is a firm favourite over on our Facebook group, so it’s definitely worth giving it a go!
Iceland Mediterranean Vegetable Quiches are available from Iceland, priced at £2.50 for a pack of 2.
Halos Triple Chocolate Flavour Cloud Cakes – 66 calories per cake
There’s absolutely no reason you can’t have your cake and eat it too thanks to these Halos Triple Chocolate Flavour Cloud Cakes we’ve spotted this week. The ultra-chocolatey, steamed nibbles are only 66 calories each – sounds like it’s time to pop the kettle on if you ask us!
For anyone who’d rather enjoy a fruity flavoured snack, we noticed there’s also a lemon version of these slimming-friendly cakes on the shelves too. Whichever pack you pick, they’re sure to curb your mid-afternoon sweet tooth cravings!
We can’t talk about chocolate cakes without giving a massive shoutout to our very own best-ever Chocolate Brownies. Not only are they delicious squidgy bites of brownie heaven, they’re just 59 calories per square!
Halos Triple Chocolate Flavour Cloud Cakes are available from Asda, priced at £1.50 for a pack of 5.
Morrisons 50% Lighter Mature White Cheddar – 86 calories per 30g
One of the ingredients you’ll always find in our fridge is a block of reduced-fat Cheddar cheese. We’re not fussy about brands, so we were pleased to see that Morrisons has added its own-brand 50% Lighter Mature White Cheddar to the shelves this week.
Ideal for all kinds of cheesy recipes, it’ll bring a nice, strong flavour to your food, for a fraction of the calories of a full-fat Cheddar. It’s just what you need for making a whole host of slimming-friendly meals, whether it’s going in sandwiches, on a jacket spud, or grated all over the top of a hearty Lasagne.
We’ve sprinkled a handful over our clever low-calorie white sauce, to get this glorious golden topping. When it’s bubbling and crispy at the edges, you know it’s ready to serve.
Morrisons 50% Lighter Mature White Cheddar is available from Morrisons, priced at £2.80.
Robinsons Ginger & Orange Fruit Cordials – 45 calories per 250ml (diluted)
If you’re after a new, non-alcoholic summer drink, you’re in luck! Robinsons has just added a couple of fruity new drinks to its range, including this Ginger & Orange Fruit Cordial. Perfect for sipping in the sunshine, it’s a more sophisticated take on squash, with apple, orange, warming ginger and hibiscus in the mix to add a hint of the botanical.
For all-out flowery flavour, there’s an Elderflower version in the same range. Pour it over ice, add 250ml of water, sit outside and enjoy!
The zesty flavour combo of ginger and orange is one of our favourites – and it works just as well in savoury recipes as it does in sweet treats. These Ginger and Orange Chicken Kebabs are really quick to cook in the oven or air fryer. Take this as your sign to add them to your midweek meal plan!
Robinsons Ginger & Orange Fruit Cordials are available from Asda, priced at £2.50.
Morrisons The Best King Prawn Salad – 249 calories per pack
When you need to grab lunch on the go, it can be tricky to spot a healthy option that’s tasty too. Supermarket salads can sometimes be deceptively high in calories, but not this new Morrisons The Best King Prawn Salad.
For 249 calories, you can tuck into juicy king prawns, served on a bed of turmeric noodles with crisp, Asian-inspired vegetables and a sweet chilli, lime and coriander dipping sauce. Ready to eat right away, it’s the perfect balance of convenience and deliciousness!
Prawns are such a handy ingredient when you’re trying to put together a slimming-friendly meal plan. They’re low in calories and high in protein, plus they’re really versatile! How about trying this Prawn Tikka Masala for your next curry night?
Morrisons The Best King Prawn Salad is available from Morrisons, priced at £4.00.
ASDA Creamy Welsh Rarebit Bacon Loin Steaks – 190 calories per 1/2 pack
Fancy a change from chicken? These ASDA Creamy Welsh Rarebit Bacon Loin Steaks come with a Cheddar cheese, brown ale and Worcester sauce melt. That might all sound pretty indulgent, but they’re only 190 calories per serving!
Designed to be popped under the grill, they cook in about 20 minutes, making them a tasty addition to your rota of midweek meals. Imagine dishing them up with some veg and a scoop of Creamy Mashed Potatoes…
We love the flavours of a Welsh rarebit, although it’s not always the most slimming friendly option. That’s why we came up with these 350-calorie Mushroom and Rarebit Muffins, and they’re such a treat for breakfast!
ASDA Creamy Welsh Rarebit Bacon Loin Steaks are available from Asda, priced at £3.50 for a pack of 2.
Gosh Falafacini with Basil Pesto – 177 calories per 80g portion
Falafel meets arancini to make these Gosh Falafacini with Basil Pesto! We spied these tempting little vegan bites in Tesco this week, and couldn’t resist giving them a go. They’re packed full of veggie goodness, made from rice, black beans, sweet potato and chickpeas, with a herby pesto centre.
Ready in under 10 minutes, you can heat them up in your oven or air fryer, before serving with salad, pasta or an array of other picky bits!
Why not pop them on the buffet table next to a bowlful of our Pesto Potato Salad? A nice change from the usual spuds, the zing of lemon juice and crunch of toasted pine nuts take the flavours to the next level.
Gosh Falafacini with Basil Pesto is available from Tesco, priced at £3.50.
Harvest Morn Protein Chocolate Flavour Bites – 113 calories per 30g serving (6g protein)
Sometimes you just need cereal for breakfast! While lots of chocolatey cereals can be full of sugar and high in calories, these Harvest Morn Protein Chocolate Flavour Bites are easier to work into your meal plan.
At just 113 calories for a standard 30g portion, you’ll also get 6g of protein. Top them with a dollop of fat-free Greek yoghurt to ramp up the protein content even more – it’s the key to keeping you feeling fuller for longer.
Speaking of brekkies that are high in protein, this Greek-Style Omelette Wrap is hard to beat. Bursting with fresh flavours including salty feta and minty yoghurt, it’ll add a whopping 29g of protein to your morning.
Harvest Morn Protein Chocolate Flavour Bites are available from Aldi, priced at £1.29.
Tesco Vegetarian Vegetable and Mozzarella Burgers – 105 calories per burger
Whether you’re vegetarian or not, these Vegetarian Vegetable and Mozzarella Burgers sound like a slimming-friendly dream! With mozzarella and oak smoked Cheddar cheese in the mix, they won’t disappoint on melty, gorgeous cheesiness.
You can cook them in the oven or under the grill, and they’re even good to finish off on the BBQ if you spot enough sunshine this weekend!
Once they’re piled into a burger bun with some crisp lettuce and tomato, we’ll be adding a handful of Sweet Potato Fries on the side. Somebody pass the ketchup!
Tesco Vegetarian Vegetable and Mozzarella Burgers are available from Tesco, priced at £2.10 for a pack of 2.
